Monkey Shot is a Party Game in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. As the name implies, it is a shooter game, for 1 player.

Gameplay

The player takes control of a reticle, which can be moved around to aim at and shoot enemies. Points are scored for each hit, and landing consecutive hits results in an increasing bonus to the number of points earned per shot. In addition to having to shoot enemies, the player will also have to shoot down missiles that are fired by enemies, as getting hit will result in the player losing a hit point, and the game will end if the player runs out. Items will spawn at certain intervals, which can be obtained by shooting them. UFOs also appear at a set time depending on the stage, and can be shot multiple times for many points, but move around in a pattern that may make them difficult to hit. The player can hold the aim assist button to slowly lock on to nearby enemies, but this is inefficient compared to aiming manually.

The player can have up to 6 bullets loaded at once, and can reload with additional ammo at any time. The game will also auto-reload, if enabled, when the player runs out of shots, assuming they have enough ammo remaining, although the auto-reload is slower than a manual reload. The total amount of ammo left is shown in the top left, beneath the score, and number of hit points. If the player runs out of ammo, they must mash the shoot button to replenish 50 bullets.

At the end of each stage is a boss. The player must defeat the boss to clear the stage.

Trivia

  • The description of the mission "Eyes on the score" implies that the player will play on all stages, when only the Ocean Attack stage appears in Ranking Challenge.
    • Incidentally, this fact results in this mission being considerably harder than the relatively easy Ranking Challenge missions from other Party Games.
  • All the 3 original musics used in Super Monkey Ball 2 was not used in Banana Mania. The new song used is an original composition.
