AV Logo
- For the other logo stage, see Sega Logo.
AV Logo (or Banana Plate in Banana Mania) is the 3rd Beginner Extra, 4th Advanced Extra and 8th Expert Extra floor in (Super) Monkey Ball.
In Super Monkey Ball Deluxe, it is the 3rd Beginner Extra, 4th Advanced Extra and 18th Expert Extra stage, as well as the 43rd, 134th, and 268th Ultimate stage.
In Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, on top of its original positions, it is also the 43rd SMB1 Marathon stage.
Description
The main part of the stage is in the shape of the Amusement Vision logo, with a large circular platform with holes in the shape of a lower-case A and V, as styled in the logo. The floor constantly tilts in an anticlockwise circular pattern. There is a banana bunch in the center of the "A", and the goal is in between the "V". The start point is on a small stationary platform at the bottom end of the main platform.
Strategy
Clearing this stage requires carefully navigating the tilting platform, accounting for its tilt and the holes in the platform, to reach the goal.
Changes in Banana Mania
Due to Amusement Vision becoming defunct in 2005, the stage is instead in the shape of two bananas, with the goal moved closer to the top edge. Corresponding to this redesign, it is now called "Banana Plate". This version is arguably more difficult, as the player must go around the edge of the platform to get past the banana gaps, where the ground is narrower than between the A and V in AV Logo.
It is also one of the few stages which was significantly changed in Banana Mania without being available in Original Stage Mode, presumably to remove any trace of the Amusement Vision logo from the game.
Trivia
- The Japanese version of the stage lacks the trademark (TM) symbol.
- In Banana Mania's SMB1 Marathon mode, although Banana Plate first appears in Beginner Extra, it will not appear until the Advanced Extra portion.
