Diamond
Diamond is the 2nd Beginner floor in (Super) Monkey Ball.
In Super Monkey Ball Deluxe, it is the 2nd Beginner and Ultimate stage in Challenge Mode, as well as World 1-2 in Story Mode.
In Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, on top of its original position, it is also the 2nd SMB1 Marathon stage.
Description
The stage is rhombus or "diamond" shaped, with a smaller rhombus-shaped gap in the centre, thus introducing the risk of falling out. As with the previous stage, there are barriers around the edges, though not around the gap. The blue goal sits at the other side of the stage, but a green goal sits on a small platform beneath it, with a ramp at the back of the stage for getting over the barrier to land on it. This stage also therefore introduces warp goals.
Strategy
This stage requires more care than before, to avoid falling through the gap in the centre, but is otherwise fairly straightforward as the goal is simply on the other side. Accessing the green goal requires turning around to roll up the ramp, and care must be taken when landing on the platform beneath, which the map can help with.
Reappearances
A harder version of this stage, called Break, appears in Advanced. As for Diamond itself, it has reappeared several times throughout the series, namely:
