Hitter
Hitter is the 2nd Beginner Extra floor in (Super) Monkey Ball.
In Super Monkey Ball Deluxe, it is the 2nd Beginner Extra and 42nd Ultimate stage.
In Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, on top of its original position, it is also the 12th SMB1 Marathon stage.
Description
The stage consists of a large square with a rotating goal encased within a square-shaped obstacle, i.e the "hitter". The goal and hitter rotate at a moderate speed, moving left and right through the middle of the square platform. The rotation slows down as the goal reaches the centre of the square platform, providing an opening to the player.
Strategy
The main strategy for beating this level involves waiting at the start point for the hitter's rotation to slow down, and taking advantage of the opening to roll into the goal. While the hitter can hit the player with speed and cause a fallout, this is generally rare due to the slow rotation speed.
Changes in Banana Mania
The hitter has been removed, and instead the goal rotates freely. Despite this change, the stage is still called Hitter, and also does not appear in Original Stage Mode.
Reappearances
A more difficult version of the stage appears in Advanced Extra and Expert Extra, known as Hard Hitter. It also serves as the inspiration for Beginner Extra 1 in Super Monkey Ball Jr., though with some changes.
