The tutorial stage, also known as the how to play stage, is the tutorial stage for Super Monkey Ball 2 that is used for the "how to play" video that plays when the player idles on the title screen.

Description

The stage's layout begins similarly to the previous game's tutorial stage, with a rectangular path with two 90˚ turns, first to the right, and then to the left, though with a circular starting area, and two more circular areas on the path. In the second section is a single banana followed by a banana bunch. In the third section, there is a gentle upward slope leading to a bumper and a switch. The switch raises a bridge, giving access to the last part of the stage, after a left turn. There is a wide seesaw platform in this last section, with two bananas on it, which then leads to the goal

Role in game

The stage exists purely for the purpose of showing the player the controls, and the basics of the game. As such, it cannot actually be played on, and has a very formulaic layout. The bananas are present to teach the player about collecting 100 bananas for an extra life, while the slope, bumper, switch and seesaw likewise exist to teach the player about these types of hazards.

Accessing through debug mode

It cannot be accessed through normal means, but can be accessed via the debug menu using hacks, and is stage 70 on the debug stage select.
