Detritus Desert (サイバンカンさばく Saibankan Desert) is the fourth world in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz and third in Super Monkey Ball (iOS).

Description

The world takes place above a quicksand pit in a desert. In the background are cliffs with sandfalls, and pyramids. Stages also contain unique hazards, such as pyramids with doors, staircases, and swinging rope bridges. Decorations include cacti, bones, and pillars. This world introduces enemies, featuring mole-like creatures that walk around and try to walk into the player. Jumping on their heads flattens them and incapacitates them for a while.

Trivia

  • The world's Japanese name is a pun. サイバンカン (saibankan) can be interpreted as meaning a judge, and さばく (sabaku), in addition to meaning desert, can also mean to judge. Thus the world's name could also be roughly translated as "A judge renders a judgement".
  • The original music used in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz was not used in Banana Blitz HD. The new song used is an original composition.
  • There is a glitch involving the mole enemies in this world. Walking into them as GonGon or Baby Robo can result in the player gaining a large amount of mostly upwards momentum.[1]
